Three Steps to Buy Diamond

Notice that as the carat weight triples (of 1 to 3 carats), it is often viewed as nearly threefold in size, however, it rises by 45 percent (of 6.50 to 9.40) only, and the surface area of the crown (in diamonds) marginally over doubles (the area apparent when the diamond is set).

Comparing Carat Size

Two equivalent carat diamonds may also be somewhat different in size depending on the diamond form. For eg, a marquise of 1 carat appears larger than a round of 1 carat.

The oval not only looks bigger than the princess cut but has a greater surface area (around 10 percent wider in this example), which means that the difference is not only a distortion created by the lengthened shape.

Let’s presume a diamond of 0.50 carat’s worth $1400 per carat. The prices for stone diamonds will be 1400 dollars* 0.50 dollars or 700 dollars. Or a 1-carat diamond has a $4,100 per carat price. The expense of the stone is the same as that of 1 carat – 4,100 dollars. It’s simple to measure.
